Frag Bug Hunt is based on the original Frag rules and Jeremehovah's Aliens Vs Predator variant (which can be found on Philip Reed's site here). A copy of Frag is required in order to play Bug Hunt and Jeremehovah's AVP variant is recommended reading. Please note that in addition to the AVP variant, Jeremehovah has also created a full set of alternate Frag rules, but these are not used in Bug Hunt.

Frag Bug Hunt represents a basic clash between the Colonial Marines and a hive of Aliens. Each player controls their own Marine character plus a random number of Aliens each turn, the goal being to Frag as many Aliens as you can whilst preventing the other Marine players from doing the same.

Any valid Frag map can be used whilst playing Bug Hunt, although one with as much cover as possible is recommended. Our group have played Bug Hunt on the original Frag maps, Games Workhop's Space Hulk tiles and our own custom made Frag tiles. Doors in Bug Hunt can be opened, closed and destroyed, so we represent them in card rather than using any printed versions on the game board.

The Marines and Aliens can be represented by any appropriate means, whether card figures or miniatures. Our group uses 25mm Stargrunt miniatures from Ground Zero Games to represent the Marines. We use three separate types of miniatures for the Aliens, rather than having to track damage to each creature, as follows:

1 Health Alien - Kryomech Helion with tail

Actual Alien figures would be better of course, but I've not been able to get hold of any and the ones listed above work well enough when painted appropriately (I confess mine are just very quickly painted right now as I needed to get them ready for a game on short notice).

Below are downloadable PDF files containing templates for Alien and Marine standup figures. There are four files in total, two Alien variants and two Marine. Both Alien sheets contain 12 standup Aliens, one of them with no health makers and one of them with 4 at each of the possible health levels (1, 2 & 3). Each Marine sheet also contains 12 standups, one sheet giving each Marine a basic identifier, the other sheet leaves a blank space for you to fill in your own. The Marines are a mixed bunch, some looking reasonably like Colonial Marines and some decidedly less so! My full range of standup templates can also be found here.
